Come join our 10th Winter Solstice celebration on Wednesday, December 21st from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
At 6:00 pm we will begin by coming together over food, fire, and crafts; then moving to multiple performers sharing their gifts and talents and leading us through a time of music and stories to celebrate the beauty of winter, long nights, and colder weather.
All ages and stages welcome (solo or part of a group)!
Reservations are required and we ask for a gift from those who can contribute financially (gift includes processing fees):
– $22.50 per person (suggested minimum)
– $55 per family (suggested minimum)
Additional financial contributions will be gratefully received.
100% will be donated to supporting #GiveTheGiftOfWarmth #KeepPeopleWarmThisWinter by using 50% to purchase handwarmers to support people experiencing homelessness and provided to Men’s Street Ministry that serves Hamilton and Brantford; and 50% to the people of Ukraine.
The evening will feature performances from Myriad Ensemble conducted by Elise Naccarato, Lacey Hill, Ronley Teper, Anju Kakkar, Terri-Lynn Ledger, and Hannah Fogel, with a special guest appearance by Walt Rickli, Sculptor and creator of the beloved public sculpture gardens in Lowville.
Many thanks to the City of Burlington, Arts and Culture Fund for their 2022 support of the performing artists.
Note: Kune Hua will be leading a quiet time of reflection and guided meditations from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Winter Solstice officially begins at 4:47pm ET when we will honour the lighting of the fire. All are welcome, no reservations required.
